Happy Kat?

The reunification of V & M with Miss Maudie and Zach will occur in seven days! So, in anticipation of this glorious event, we (V mostly) went shopping. Dried food, snacks, and grooming supplies were easy to find. Canned food may be a problem - have not found an IAMS distributor - and there is only food canned with aspic. Gross! M.M.'s not going to like that. Kitty litter was not easy either. There are dozens of varieties in the market from Japan, Germany, and Malaysia, among others. Paper pellets, sand, granulated crystals, sawdust, clay, fibers... Flabbergasted! How do we know which will be acceptable to the ever-finicky M.M.?!? (In stark contrast, Zach is easy-going and mellow.)

Also, despite the abundance of litter, there are no covered litter boxes for sale except for an exorbitant 3,600 baht (~US$100) box from Siam Paragon. Another store - Cat Societe, which is also a cat hotel - only had transparent covers (surely inadequate, due to lack of privacy). The third store had no litter boxes in stock (it did, however, have pet dwellings shaped like a strawberry, and a dog - the entrance being an open mouth). Unacceptable! A cat's displeasure is not to be taken lightly.

In the end, this litter was chosen:

I realised later that the choice was based (subliminally) on packaging alone. My gawd! The proper and correct box must be procured within the week; otherwise, I am going to lose my mind, and possibly have to endure the wrath of an unhappy kat.
