Last year, yellow was the must-have color of the season. Despite the glaring hues of the shirts available in the market, the yellow trend has endured, especially on Mondays. Why? There is a specific color tied to each day of the week, and Monday's (the day the King was born) color happens to be yellow.
The color designations are based on pre-Buddhist Hindu legends about creation. While wearing the right color on the appropriate day is believed to bring good luck, yellow has also become a symbol of devotion to, and goodwill toward, the monarchy.
When His Majesty was in the hospital, astrologers declared that pink (Tuesday's color) was an auspicious color for the King, helping him recover faster. The trend didn't take off until he left the hospital donning a pink shirt and blazer, sparking the fuschia frenzy. Buyers and sellers are now getting into all things pink. It's the new yellow!
